We did a major renovation of our small house, including gutting a bathroom and hallway on the main floor, and converting the basement into a primary bedroom, primary bathroom, closet, and laundry room. Because the space is tight, every decision mattered.

We worked with Annie Schwemmer as our architect and she not only had great ideas but she was incredibly responsive throughout. She gave great advice and helped us to evaluate the cost tradeoffs versus the benefits of certain ideas. For example, she costed out and designed keeping the mechanicals in the basement versus moving them to the attic. While it was more expensive to move them, it eliminated venting that would have substantially lowered the basement ceiling. We were glad we followed her advice to move the mechanicals to the attic as opposed to being shortsighted in order to save 5-10% on the total cost. Her experience and wisdom were invaluable.

Renovation Design also helped us to find a contractor – who was excellent – and Annie was there for us throughout the project. I can’t say enough about Annie, her entire team, and Renovation Design. Hire them.

We worked with Ann before she retired and at times with others on RDG team, and highly recommend this group. Ann had great ideas, was respectful, worked well within our budget, did a lovely remodel design for our older home , and had a strong working relationship with our contractor, whom she vetted, and we also loved.

RDG was fantastic to work with throughout our garage process. I highly recommend Annie and her team!

RDG helped us bring our ideas for a new home to fruition. With their assistance, we have created our dream home with all the specifics that were important to us! Annie, our architect, and the RDG team were fantastic to work with. They listened to our wants and also shared their knowledge and experience to create our happy, dog friendly home! Thank you, RDG!

We worked with Ann in the beginning and she was very thorough and thoughtful and had great ideas for making everything work together better. She retired near the end of the project and we worked with Annie and the other ladies and they were great, as well! They made this amazing before and after book! Would definitely recommend!

RDG was a terrific partner in our remodel. They were the game changers for taking our dated 90’s cookie-cutter home to a customized and functional beauty.

RDG gave us exactly what we wanted in a full home remodel. They have varying levels of support/involvement options, depending on what you are looking for. Highly recommend.

We are very pleased with our main-floor remodel designed by Ann Robinson several years ago. It was a collaborative process with plenty of changes due to the age of our house and newer codes. We ended up with a better design than we had anticipated, thanks to Ann’s suggestions. I would highly recommend RDG for your next project.

My wife and I wanted to remodel with no clue how to begin, and look back so thankfully on our decision to reach out to RDG. Annie walked us through options, we selected and collaborated until we had a perfect plan. Her contacts were invaluable as we locked in a path to completion, and we couldn’t believe how much better our experience was we thought possible! Big thumbs up!

I’ve now worked with Renovation Design Group on three major projects, including a full home renovation and a complete condo demolition and rebuild. Each time, they have been exceptional.

Renovation is a specialized discipline, and they’ve mastered it—seeing possibilities where others see constraints. Annie Schwemmer and her team were fully engaged from start to finish, guiding the process with clarity, creativity, and practical expertise.

I am 100% satisfied—truly thrilled—with the result.
Five stars. More if available.

We had a wonderful experience with the team at RDG. Annie made the whole process seem less overwhelming and achievable.

We were trying to have our basement dug out, which itself is very daunting, but RDG was able to help point us towards reputable GCs who could help us accomplish the project. Annie also worked with us throughout the project, helping advocate for us and our vision throughout the project.

Annie was also great about giving us multiple options of designs to help accommodate our budget, and she was very flexible in providing modified plans when we inevitably changed our mind or the GC ran into some limitations during construction.

As someone that isn’t particularly knowledgeable about construction stuff, I really appreciated how Annie would take time to explain the reasons for certain design choices or limitations and explain what was happening.

Lastly, I can’t emphasize enough how great it was to have someone who works in the space enough to refer us to high quality contractors who had experience in projects like ours. It really took away a lot of anxiety and worry we had about finding the right fit for doing such a major project.

I would recommend RDG to anyone and everyone looking to undertake a major home construction project.

When we renovated our entire house, we chose to work with Renovation Design Group and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Annie brought experience, organization, problem-solving, and tasteful suggestions to every interaction. The drafters were thorough and professional (and tromped through a foot of show to take accurate measurements) and the office staff was always prompt, helpful, and kind. I’ve already recommend Renovation Design Group to a neighbor looking into a remodel; they get a hearty endorsement from me!
