Style: Bungalows
Built in: 1920-1929
Details:
Located in the Yalecrest neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah this 1925 bungalow featured immense character but lacked an open concept that the homeowners desired. The team worked to create a plan for this main level renovation that not only opened up the floorplan but also is authentic to the home.
Between the kitchen and dining room, the team created an arch opening that is identical to the existing one between the living room and dining room. We were also able to improve the overall function of the kitchen by removing a small and underutilized breakfast nook to create additional pantry storage.
The second part of this main level renovation was the creation of a primary suite. We were able to create this space in addition to a powder bathroom from an existing hallway, bathroom, two bedrooms, and a few small closets. The home now offers a gorgeous primary suite on the main level with built-in bookshelves, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom with a beautiful double-sink vanity.
