The Holladay Park project included an interior remodel and addition. Our goal was to create an open-concept living space, improve the connection to the backyard, and add a designated primary suite on the main level.
In order to get the spaces that the homeowners were looking for, we added an addition on the rear of the home. This gave us room for a large kitchen on the main level and a bedroom beneath with access from the basement. In the dining room, we combined what was the kitchen with the dining room to create a large dining space. We then worked with the structural engineer to open up the dining room to both the existing living room and the kitchen addition. Each space now offers the open concept that the homeowners were looking for.
Outside, we added a covered patio with direct access from an existing exterior door as well as the kitchen. Now the home has direct access and clear sightlines all the way from the front door in the living room, through the dining room, and out the back door in the kitchen.
Down the hall, we combined two bedrooms to create a primary suite. We used the first bedroom, plus the closets, for the bedroom and a walk-in closet. We then transformed the second bedroom into a primary bathroom with double sinks, storage, and a large shower with beautiful tile details.
