Before

Basement family room before the remodel with carpet in one section and tile in another.

Welcome to the Mountainside Mid-Century basement remodel! This project is the first of three phases and focused on transforming the dated and dark basement into one that the entire family will enjoy. We started in the great room by updating the finishes and creating zones. This included designating the upper portion, further from the windows, as the TV zone. In the lower section, we renovated the fireplace and added a sitting area, expanded the windows to take advantage of the daylight basement layout, and built in a wet-bar. We then switched the office and bedroom due to the sizes and converted the powder bathroom into a full bathroom. This updated layout has transformed how the entire home functions by providing more usable and updated spaces.
